Using the Internet and email:

Basic skills such as organising your computer, optimising your Internet connection, using Internet Explorer for searching and surfing the web, book marking your favourite sites, managing your email, setting up a firewall, avoiding viruses and more. This lesson is for 1 hour in your home or office. Cost is $35 - book online

Preparing images for the Internet and email:

Whether using images and photos from a scanner or digital camera, once they are on your computer there is no limit to what can be done with them. This lesson covers the various file types and their uses, colour and focus correction and more. Does not include animation or movies which fall under specialist skills. This lesson is for 1 hour in your home or office and costs $35 - book online

Getting your web site online:

This course covers design and layout, preparing your web pages and adding images, indexing your pages and uploading to a web site. For the most benefit to you, this course is divided into 2 lessons:

• The first lesson covers the basics of building a web page, adding suitable images and uploading the pages to your web site. Then you are left on your own for a few days to build the rest of your site by adding new pages. The second lesson will become possible after you have added a few pages to your site and had time to absorb what you have learnt through the initial practice.

• The final lesson covers how to improve the look of your web pages by using proper font selection, controlling page layout with the use of tables, building menus and more.

By the time you complete this course you should be able to build professional looking web sites. This course is 2 x 1 hour lessons in your home or office and costs $75 - book online. Bribie Net users will have a free home page to use. Free web sites elsewhere can also be used.

Specialist skills:

Anything not covered in the courses above fall under "specialist skills" and can be tutored on request. Such things may include setting up an intranet (LAN) and networking, setting up mail lists for promotion and club newsletters, optimising your web site for search engines, giving your designs a more professional look, working with databases, or simply exploring the functions of your favourite software. Tutoring:

Tuition is conducted by professional consultants "one on one" in the relaxed surroundings of your own home or office.

Terms and conditions:

1. All lessons are to be prepaid and fees are non-refundable.
2. Lesson times are by mutual appointment.
3. Failure of the student to meet the appointed time within 15 minutes will be deemed as ’lesson having been tutored.’
4. Cancellation and re-appointment is acceptable if we are notified by email or phone within no more than 2 hours before the appointed time. Otherwise item 3 above is applied.
5. Extended lessons can be arranged at pro rata rate.
